Are all products suitable for engraving?

While we can engrave a massive range of items, there are limits. The best materials for engraving include wood, acrylic, glass, leather, cork, denim, cardboard, and paper. Additionally, the item must fit inside our laser cutter, so it cannot exceed 130 x 90 x 30 cm (W x L x H). Not sure if your product will work? Bring it by or contact us!

I saw an item on your social media, but can't find it in the shop. Is it still available to order?

Yes, absolutely! We do a lot of custom work. Saw something that isn't in our webshop yet? Just send us a DM or get in touch, and we'll take care of your order!

Can I bring in my own items to be personalized?

Absolutely! You can either bring in your own items for engraving or choose from our selection of products and materials to be engraved or custom cut

Are all designs and fonts suitable for cutting?

Yes! In principle, any design or font can be cut out. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. The durability of the final product depends heavily on the design. For instance, a cursive font with very thin lines will be quite fragile, whereas a bold font offers much more stability. It also depends on its intended use. We're always happy to advise you on the best options!

Is there any risk when engraving my own products?

The word 'Lab' in our name says it all: we love experimenting with different materials and products. Because every material reacts uniquely, we can never 100% guarantee the exact outcome of a laser engraving. Therefore, bringing your own item for engraving is entirely at your own risk, and we cannot be held responsible for the final result, unless, of course, we make a major blunder ourselves!

How can I check if my design file is suitable for production?

Want to have your own design or logo engraved? No problem! We prefer working with vector files, such as .svg, .eps, .ai, .cdr, or .pdf formats. Not sure if your file meets the requirements? Simply email the highest quality file you have to design@laser-lab.nl, and we'll check it for you. We can also convert files to the correct format if needed.

Is it normal to see burn marks on laser-cut items?

Laser engraving and cutting work by essentially burning through the material, which can cause slight burn marks. The final appearance depends on factors like the material itself, the color, font, and overall design. These marks are naturally more visible on lighter colors, such as white. While we thoroughly clean every product immediately after production for the cleanest possible finish, some minor marking may remain on specific materials. We always advise our customers on this beforehand so you can adjust your design or material choice if necessary.
